Job Description
At Lift Solutions, our Forklift Technicians are the backbone of our operations. They travel to customer locations to perform preventitive maintenance and general repairs on all makes and models of forklifts and other industrial equipment.
Lift Solutions provides a service van that you work out of and take home every night, our technicians provide their own basic tools.
Automotive, Diesel and Electrical backgrounds are preferred.
We are currently hiring in Sioux Falls, Huron, Aberdeen, Pierre, Watertown and Brookings areas.
Job Requirements
Required: Pre-employment physical and drug screen. Background check and motor vehicle check.
Forklift Field Service Technician / Forklift Mechanic Primary Responsibilities:
Communicate daily with Service Dispatcher, Customer Service Supervisor or Field Service Manager to determine work schedule.
Travel to customer locations.
Troubleshoot, diagnose and repair lift trucks and other equipment.
Perform Planned Maintenance inspections.
Technical repair knowledge is necessary.
Perform safety and operational tests.
Confer with customer and review recommended repairs.
Estimate or quote repair costs.
Place parts orders and complete repair paperwork.
Maintain Service Van and Inventory-
Keep van clean with items properly labeled, organized and stored.
Perform minor repairs to the van such as replacing windshield wipers.
Service the van by changing engine oil & filter, air filter, rotating tires, checking tire pressure, and other minor repairs according to schedule.
Notify management about van maintenance needs and van incidents.
Maintain all safety equipment supplied with the van.
Maintain accurate parts inventory levels in compliance with Lift Solutions guidelines. Pick up parts and replenish van inventory.
Forklift Field Service Technician / Forklift Mechanic Daily Tasks:
Perform pre-delivery inspections
Prepare lift trucks and other equipment for shipping and receiving, as needed.
Communicate customer satisfaction information and sales leads to the appropriate personnel.
Complete all training as required.
Forklift Field Service Technician / Forklift Mechanic Physical Requirements :
Per 8-hour shift, must be able to sit 2 hours, stand 5 hours, walk 1 hour.
Basic Computer skills
Must be able to frequently lift/carry/push/pull up to 50 lbs., bend/stoop/twist, squat, reach below knee level, work with arm outstretched, and work above chest level.
Must be able to occasionally lift/carry/push/pull up to 100 lbs., reach above shoulder level, climb stairs, climb ladders, torque, use vibratory tools and pinch grip.
Must be able to safely operate lift trucks and vehicles / service vans.
Possible exposure to hot and cold temperatures, dust, solvents, fuels, battery acid and noise pollution.
Requires a high school diploma
Requires prior related experience.
Valid driver license is required

Pay: $25.00 - $35.00 per hour depending on experience
Expected hours: 40 – 50 per week
