GENERAL PUPOSE OF THIS POSITION:

Maintain the golf course grounds under the supervision of the Superintendent of Public Works

SCOPE OF THIS POSITION:

Ensuring that the greens, fairways, bunkers, and other areas are kept in top condition.

This role is crucial in providing a high-quality golfing experience for our members and guests.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

(Major responsibilities and accomplishments expected of the position including the typical problems encountered in carrying out the elements of the job)

Mow, trim, and maintain the greens, fairways, roughs, and tees. Ensure that the grass is healthy and free of pests and diseases.

Rake and maintain sand traps and bunkers. Ensure they are well-defined, weed-free, and properly edged.

Operate and maintain a variety of groundskeeping equipment, including mowers, trimmers, blowers, and tractors.

Perform routine maintenance and repairs on equipment to ensure optimal functionality.

Apply fertilizers, pesticides, and herbicides as needed to promote healthy turf growth and manage weeds and pests.

Follow all safety guidelines when handling chemicals.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND PERSONAL ABILITIES:

KNOWLEDGE:

Understanding of golf course maintenance practices, including mowing patterns, irrigation techniques, and turf health management.

Knowledge of chemicals used in turf care and the proper handling procedures.

SKILLS:

Familiarity with turf management and irrigation systems is a plus.

Basic mechanical skills for equipment maintenance and repair.

PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES:

Strong attention to detail, good time management, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting up to 50 pounds, standing, walking, and working outdoors in various weather conditions.

ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS:

Tolerance to heat/cold environments.

MENTAL DEMANDS:

Ability to work closely with other greenskeepers and grounds staff to complete tasks efficiently.

Communicate any course issues or concerns to the Superintendent of Public Works.

SPECIAL CERTIFICATIONS/QUALIFICATIONS:

High school diploma or equivalent.

. Certification in turf management or related fields is a plus.

Availability/Benefits:

Flexible schedule with early morning start times.

Must be available to work weekends, holidays, and during peak golfing seasons.

Part time seasonal 10-30 hours per week during golf season

Access to golf course facilities.
