Job Description

This person is responsible for the supervision of housekeeping and laundry departments. This person will work closely will other departments to assure compliance with state and federal regulations and is on call all hours including weekends and holidays.

- Participate in monthly meetings for QAPI, Safety Committee, Manager Meeting, and All Staff In-Services. Responsible in completion of required forms/ checklists for these programs.

- This person will meet daily with the Administrator along with other departmental managers.

- Is responsible in hiring of employees, staffing levels, budget for each department, orientation of employees on position hired for, disaster plans, and performance evaluations.

- Planning, organizing, and directing the housekeeping, and laundry departments.

- Supply ordering, annual inventory, and scheduling for departments.

- Be knowledgeable of state and federal regulations and facility departmental policies and procedures.

- Follow safety rules and regulations of the facility.

- Provide direction, education and leadership to staff in each department for compliance.

- Provide MSDS sheets to staff, make accessible, and update on a continual basis.

 

Housekeeping

- Housekeeping Cleaning Lists/ Checklists- create, monitor, and ensure completion/ documentation.

- Keep the facility clean, safe, and comfortable for residents and staff following all facility infection control and sanitation policies and procedures. This includes resident rooms, administrative offices, therapy, dining area and other designated areas.

- Clean, vacuum, dust, mop, buff, wax and wash rooms, hallways and equipment throughout the entire facility.

- Aid in moving residents when necessary, deep cleaning of resident rooms, equipment and beds.

- Maintain equipment and ensure chemicals are locked up per facility procedures.

Laundry

- Ensure all resident clothing and linens are cleaned in sanitary manner according to state and federal regulations and facility policy and procedures.

- Safeguard resident clothing- proper marking, be aware of washing procedures/ material.

- Operate washer, dryers and other laundry equipment.
