Job Description

As an HVAC apprentice ductwork installer, your primary responsibility will be to assist in the installation, repair, and maintenance of ductwork systems for heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems. This may include working on both commercial and residential properties.

Your specific duties may include:

  • Assisting in the installation of HVAC ductwork, including measuring and cutting materials, assembling components, and sealing joints.
  • Assisting in the repair and maintenance of HVAC ductwork, including identifying and fixing leaks, replacing damaged components, and cleaning and inspecting ducts.
  • Following safety protocols and wearing appropriate protective gear to avoid injury or exposure to hazardous materials.
  • Communicating effectively with other members of the installation team, as well as with clients and building owners.
  • Maintaining tools and equipment in good condition, and properly storing and securing them when not in use.
  • Learning about HVAC systems and building codes and regulations to ensure compliance with industry standards.
  • Following established procedures and protocols for completing projects on time and within budget.

To qualify for this position, you should have a high school diploma or equivalent, and some basic knowledge of HVAC systems and ductwork installation. You should be able to lift heavy materials, work in confined spaces, and have good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity. Additionally, you should be able to work independently and as part of a team, and be willing to learn new skills and techniques as needed. Some employers may also require you to have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
