Job Description
As an HVAC service technician, your primary responsibility will be to diagnose, repair, and maintain HVAC systems, including heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems, for both residential and commercial clients.
Your specific duties may include:
- Diagnosing and repairing HVAC systems, including identifying and fixing issues with the electrical, mechanical, and refrigeration components of the system.
- Performing routine maintenance tasks, including cleaning and replacing filters, checking fluid levels, and lubricating moving parts.
- Installing new HVAC systems, including ductwork, piping, and electrical components.
- Interacting with clients to assess their needs, provide estimates, and explain the work that needs to be done.
- Keeping accurate records of work performed, including parts used, time spent, and billing information.
- Following safety protocols and wearing appropriate protective gear to avoid injury or exposure to hazardous materials.
- Communicating effectively with other members of the service team, as well as with clients and building owners.
- Maintaining tools and equipment in good condition, and properly storing and securing them when not in use.
- Learning about new HVAC technologies and techniques to stay up-to-date with industry trends.
To qualify for this position, you should have a high school diploma or equivalent, and a certification or degree in HVAC or a related field. You should have a strong understanding of HVAC systems and the ability to diagnose and repair issues efficiently. You should also be able to work independently and as part of a team, have good communication skills, and be able to provide excellent customer service. Additionally, you should be able to work in confined spaces, lift heavy equipment, and work in a variety of weather conditions. Must have a valid driver's license.
