The Lean Engineering Technician will be instrumental in promoting Lean principles throughout our organization. This role will focus primarily on the design and implementation of 5S methodologies in work centers, developing standard work procedures, and educating operators on Lean practices. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in Lean principles, excellent communication skills, and a passion for driving process improvements.

YOUR ROLE

  • Assist in the design and implementation of 5S systems across work centers to enhance workplace organization and efficiency.
  • Develop and document standard work procedures to ensure consistency and quality in operations.
  • Conduct formal and informal training sessions for operators to educate them on Lean principles, 5S practices, and standard work.
  • Co-facilitate continuous improvement (CI) workshops to engage team members and promote a culture of Lean thinking.
  • Create clear, concise work instructions to support operators in their daily tasks.
  • Audit production processes to identify opportunities for process improvements and measure the impact of Lean initiatives.
  • Facilitate and support problem-solving efforts and implement improvements by utilizing Lean tools in accordance with company standards.
  • Adheres to safe work practices and the safety policies of the organization. Works to improve the safety of current and new processes under development.
  • Participates with plant engineering functions in the installation of new equipment and/or the modification of existing equipment for running new products.
  • Writes timely reports when appropriate including weekly reports.
  • Participates in outside activities as they relate to professional development.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.


YOUR SKILLS

  • Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; and one to three years of Lean Manufacturing experience or any three to five year combination.
  • Lean Manufacturing certification or Lean Six Sigma Training is a plus.

The salary for this role is $24 - $28. This is the range that we in good faith anticipate relying on when setting wages for this position. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and this range. This salary range may also be modified in the future.
