Job Summary:
The Mechanic position is responsible for performing tasks including inspection, diagnosis, and repairs to various equipment including heavy construction equipment, trucks and trailers.

Supervisory Responsibilities:
Does not have any direct reports.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Communicate with operator(s) regarding trouble issue
• Inspect/test drive equipment to evaluate issue
• Perform advanced diagnostics using available tools
• Determine plan of action to repair trouble issue
• Communicate part/equipment needs with immediate supervisor
• Make necessary repairs
• Inspect/test drive equipment to validate repair
• Qualified candidate must have own tools to meet requirements of the position

Required Skills/Abilities:
• Excellent communication/interpersonal skills
• Advanced knowledge of diesel-powered engine and powertrain systems a plus
• Working knowledge of electronic diagnostic tools
• Excellent problem-solving skills
• Keen attention to detail
• Good work attendance is a must
• Ability to work safely in a team environment
• Driver’s license (CDL preferred but not required)

Education and Experience:
• High School diploma or GED
• Valid Driver's license required
• Relevant technical school education preferred but not required

Physical Requirements:
• Physically fit to perform the job functions including the ability to stand, squat, bend, lift and walk for long durations.
• Must be able to lift up to 90 pounds at times.
