POSITION SUMMARY
Do you have a passion for STEM and love working with kids? Join us as a STEM Tutor and inspire the next generation of scientists, engineers, and tech enthusiasts! You’ll get to plan and lead exciting, hands-on activities in science, technology, engineering, and math for elementary students in a fun, afterschool setting. You’ll be making a real difference by helping underserved students, many of whom are falling behind in school, get ahead and thrive.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS STATEMENT(S)
- Create fun lesson plans: Design engaging and interactive STEM lessons, activities and games that align with South Dakota state content standards
- Lead activities: Guide groups of elementary students through exciting STEM activities and games in an out-of-school time program
- Manage supplies: Request and manage STEM supplies within the allocated budget to ensure all activities run smoothly
- Stay sharp: Attend required trainings and participate in evaluation and quality improvement activities to make our program even better
Responsible for other duties as assigned.
POSITIONS QUALIFICATIONS SKILLS & ABILITIES
Education: High School Diploma or GED required; one year of post-secondary classes in science or education preferred, but not required
Experience: A passion for STEM and a desire to help kids are the most important qualities for this position. Previous experience providing STEM lessons to school-age students or working in out-of-school time programming is a plus.
Licenses: Valid driver’s license required
Other Requirements: Must be at least 18 years of age

A. Ability to Stand, Walk, sit, manually manipulate, reach outward and above shoulders, speak and bend on a daily basis
B. Capability to lift, carry, push or pull up to 50 lbs on a daily basis
