Children’s Home Society is currently seeking a full time Outpatient Therapist to provide therapeutic services to children, youth, and families in the program.
What You'll Do - Conduct comprehensive assessments of children and families to identify mental health needs and develop individualized treatment plans.
- Utilize evidence-based practices to deliver therapy, including individual, family, and group sessions.
- Provide trauma-informed care that recognizes and addresses the unique experiences of each family member.
- Collaborate with families to create a supportive environment conducive to healing and positive change.
- Monitor client progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary to ensure optimal outcomes.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of client progress, treatment plans, and clinical notes in compliance with organizational policies and regulations.
- Develop and maintain positive and professional relationships with community resources and referral agencies.
- Participate in clinical supervision and peer consultation to enhance professional development and ensure best practices.
- Stay informed about current trends and research in trauma-informed care and mental health practices.

Schedule: Monday-Friday daytime hours, but flexible schedule (evening hours) is required. 40 hrs./week
Compensation: $55,000- $69,000 annually (depending on education and experience)

Requirements
- Master’s degree in social work, counseling, or related field.
- Current licensure in Social Work, Counseling, or Family and Marriage Therapy in the state of South Dakota.
- QMHP (Qualified Mental Health Professional) certification.
- Experience working with children and families, particularly those impacted by trauma.
- Knowledge of evidence-based therapeutic modalities and trauma-informed care principles.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with clients and families.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Commitment to promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion in mental health care.
Physical Demands and Work Environment: Normal office environment with minimal exposure to dust, noise, etc. Extended PC viewing and keyboarding required. Extended periods of sedentary work required. Client home visits may be required. Some evening work.
