Position Overview:

Children’s Home Society is a leading provider of services to vulnerable men, women, children, and families in South Dakota. As a Full-Time Outpatient Therapist, you will be responsible for providing individual, family, and group therapy to children, youth, adults, and families in an outpatient setting. This role is integral to supporting the mental health and well-being of our community members and aligns with our mission and values.

What You'll Do:

Your responsibilities as a Full-time Therapist would include:
  • Complete assessments, screening, and other documentation during the evaluation phase of treatment for each client.
  • Develop individualized treatment plans, prepare treatment plan reviews, and discharge summaries with treatment team. Consult with other service providers as needed.
  • Provide therapy to meet client needs.
  • Collaborate with the treatment team to ensure client’s needs are met appropriately.
  • Maintain positive working relationship with community resources and referral agencies.
  • Complete required reports and other documentation.
  • Assist in the development and facilitation of caregiver training as needed.
  • Actively participate in required trainings. Maintain licensure requirements.
  • Assist in the development and facilitation of an annual training curriculum for caregivers.
  • Assist with development of program forms, as necessary.
  • Provide public education presentations, as necessary.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with community agencies, schools, and universities as applicable.
  • Compile monthly, quarterly and annual statistics and other data as requested.
  • Provide on-call support, as necessary.

Requirements

Education:
  • Bachelor’s degree in human services discipline required.
  • Must be working towards or have obtained a Master’s Degree in Social Work, Counseling, or Marriage and Family Therapy.
Licensure:
  • Must have, be eligible, or working towards eligibility to obtain a Certified Social Worker Licensure or Licensed Professional Counselor, able to provide therapy in the state of South Dakota.
  • Must be, or have the ability to be, certified as Adoption Competent.
Experience:
  • Two years’ experience in children and/or family programs required.
Must successfully complete all required background and pre-employment checks EEO/AA.
