Inpatient Pharmacy:

Pharmacy Technician Supervisor
Highlights:
- Work in various environments which include: Medication distribution to clinics, and critical access hospitals, repackaging medications into unit dose forms.

Long Term Care Pharmacy:

- Long Term Care Order Entry Technician Duties
- Accurately enter data from prescriptions and doctor orders from document imaging system into pharmacy dispensing software for pharmacist verification.
- Responsible for understanding multiple electronic Medication Administration Record platforms.
- Responsible for assisting customer needs and successfully resolving any issues via multiple communication methods including EMR software systems and telephone.
- Performs clerical functions associated with long-term care pharmacy system with accuracy to ensure compliance.
- Maintains an awareness of pharmacy inventory, medical terminology, facility service types in order to accurately input orders.
Specialty Pharmacy:
Highlights:
- Monday- Friday Schedule: 8:00 am- 5:30 pm
- Business Casual dress code
- Rotating workflow schedule to cover a variety of duties including; inventory, dispensing shipping, & data entry
- Specialty pharmacy with some retail, and mail order dispensing
Retail Pharmacy (Avera on Louise):

- Based out of the new Avera on Louise facility
- Opportunity to float to other retail sites in Sioux Falls
- Schedule provided 1 month in advance! Monday-Friday 8:00 am-5:30 pm; E/ 3rd Saturday/Sunday 9:00 am- 5:00 pm
Job Summary
- Assists in drug preparation, drug storage, drug distribution, drug inventory, and required record keeping under the supervision of a Pharmacist.
- Maintains confidentiality when working with all customers.
- Must utilize effective problem solving skills.
- Conveys enthusiasm and sincerity and promotes Avera McKennan and its services in a positive manner to all customers.
- Must be flexible to change and have the ability to work effectively with Safety Principles.
- Coordinates work flow with other team members to ensure a productive and efficient environment.
- Able to help with phone conversations, correspondence, or direct contact about billing issues.
- Need working knowledge of insurance, Medicare and basic accounting principles.
Education and/or Experience
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
- Completion of Pharmacy Technician Technical Program preferred.
Certification/Licensure/Registrations
- Certified Pharmacy Technician by the National Pharmacy Technician Certification Board required.
- Unrestricted registration with the South Dakota Board of Pharmacy required within 30 days of employment.
