JOB SUMMARY
Enforce the Uniform Plumbing Code and the City plumbing ordinances through examinations of building plans and on-site inspections of commercial and residential construction.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Graduation from high school or GED certification with a minimum of six (6) years’ experience as a plumber with two (2) of those years as a journeyman plumber; or any such combination of education, experience, and training as may be acceptable to the hiring authority.
Must possess or be able to obtain prior to hire a valid driver’s license.
Must possess or be able to obtain prior to hire a journeyman plumber’s license with the state of South Dakota.
Certification as a commercial or residential Plumbing Inspector or Plans Examiner by International Association of Plumbing and Mechanical Officials (IAPMO) or International Code Council (ICC) is desirable.
