Process Technician at CCL Label Food and Beverage

Job Description

Responsible for being the technical contact for Project Managers and assisting with Process Improvement.

Job Requirements

Duties/Responsibilities:

Create Job Dockets.
Create pressure sensitive label die lines / perforation lines.
Create shrink sleeve manufacturing templates.
Initiate Ink Drawdowns with ink suppliers.
Chaperon print trials and press proofs.
Create customers samples and apply them to containers.
Help troubleshoot issues on the manufacturing floor.
Assist with process improvement efforts on front end and production floor.
Other duties as assigned.


Required Skills/Abilities:

Adequate knowledge of pertinent print- and converting-processes used in the label and narrow web industry.
Adequate knowledge of print-substrates and -inks.
Basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.
Able to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, Standard Operating Procedures, maintenance instructions and manuals.
Computer literacy. Experienced with MS Office products such as Excel and Word.
Ability to troubleshoot problems.
Willingness and ability to work with other team members and management.
Strong work ethic and good attitude towards work.
Honest, reliable team player
Safety conscious and comply with all general safety policies and procedures in accordance with Company, State and Federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) rules and regulations.


Education and Experience:

High school diploma, GED or equivalent
Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or industrial engineer preferred
6 months or more Experience in a manufacturing environment (preferred)


Physical Requirements:

Regularly use hands to finger, handle or feel and reach with hands and arms above and below shoulder level
Regularly stand and walk for extended periods of time
Regularly communicate in some manner either by speech/hearing or through written communication.
Regularly use of vision abilities including close, distance, color and peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
Regularly work around moving machinery and heavy equipment.
Frequently required to push/pull.
Frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
Occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
Frequently exposed to high-speed moving mechanical parts.
Frequently exposed to UV, strobing or flashing light.
Occasionally exposed to fumes, dust or airborne particles.
Regularly exposed to moderate noise level in the work environment.
