Job Description
OBJECTIVE: To assist in the planning, execution, and promotion of PIPESTONE’s agriculture education efforts, including Discovery Barns, county fairs, and public relations initiatives. The intern will support various communication and marketing projects, contribute to the design of materials, and help manage social media efforts.
Internship will take place between May-August 2025.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (other duties as assigned)
- Assist in the planning, programming, and execution of Ag Education efforts, including the PIPESTONE Discovery Barn and local county fairs.
- Develop and design educational and promotional materials using graphic design tools (Canva and Adobe Creative Suites).
- Support public relations efforts, including development, design and completion of projects and tasks.
- Manage and update social media platforms with relevant content.
- Collaborate with the marketing team on projects that include social media, graphic design, and event support.
- Miscellaneous duties as assigned.
POSITION SPECIFICATIONS
Education:
Must be currently enrolled in a 2-year or 4-year college program with a focus in Communications, Marketing, Education, or related fields.
Experience:
Strong communication, public speaking, and training skills required.
Experience in developing and designing materials for educational or promotional purposes.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
Graphic design skills, with a preference for proficiency in Adobe Creative Suites and Canva.
Flexible and positive attitude with the ability to adapt to changing priorities.
Work Environment:
Primary location: Pipestone, MN, with regional travel required for events.
Must be willing to attend early morning or evening meetings as needed.
Overnight travel and occasional overtime work may be required.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
Standing and moving for extended periods during events.
Additional Requirements:
Must have a valid driver's license.
Preference given to candidates willing to work through August 11.
