Salary: $100,000
Schedule: Monday through Fridays, Saturdays dependent on production schedule
Benefit eligible 1st of the month after hire

- As the Quality Assurance Manager, you are expected to maintain Grand Prairie’s Core Values in all communications with employees, visitors, and outside service providers.
Role
The purpose of the Quality Assurance Manager is to oversee and manage the quality assurance processes for your assigned plant, ensuring all products meet all safety, quality, and regulatory standards.
Responsibilities
· Manages all activities related to food safety, product quality, HACCP, GMPs, SOPs, and other regulatory standards
· Monitor all stages of the food manufacturing process to ensure products meet standard, specification, and regulatory requirements
· Assist with training GPF personnel on food safety and quality-related items
· Works as liaison for plant audits and external support providers
· Be Subject Matter Expert in USDA, FDA, CFIA, SQF, GMP's, HACCP, recall processes, food security and microbiology
· Ensure that all products are made according to policy and regulated standard
· Ensures HACCP, GMPs, SSOPs, SQF & all Quality programs are being followed
· Identify, investigate, and resolve quality issues and non-conformances; ensure proper corrective and preventive actions are implemented
· Act as the liaison to customers regarding any quality control issues
· Manages the daily activities of the Quality Assurance team
· Reviews and documents quality assurance paperwork for accuracy and verification
· Perform internal audits, inspections, and assessments of the products and facilities to ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations
· Collaborate with other necessary departments for continued improvement with safe, quality food processes
· Assists with implementation and development of new QA policies
· Support Research and Development Team with new and/or improved product processes
· Communicates with departments within the company regarding product quality issues
· Assists Sr. Director of Quality Assurance & Tech Services with special projects
· Act as or assist with SQF Practitioner, manage SQF system, understand SQF Code and requirements to maintain system
· Provide backup duties for the Sr. Director of QA and other QA personnel as it relates to the special tasks needed
Education & Training Requirements
· Bachelor’s degree in relevant field a plus, not mandatory with experience equivalency
· Food Safety Certifications (SQF, HACCP, PCQI etc.)
Work Experience Requirements
· Minimum 5+ years of food industry quality assurance experience
· Leadership experience of at least 5 individuals for 3+ years
Physical Demands and Work Environment
· Ability to stand, reach, lift, bend, kneel, stoop, climb, push, and pull items weighing 50 pounds or less
· Exposure to variation in temperature
· Working with uncooked, cooked, frozen products
