This key role involves ensuring the integrity and quality of our manufactured metal products through thorough inspections, implementing robust quality control measures, and adhering to industry standards. REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS
The Quality inspector will report to the Operations Manager.
REQUIREMENTS
High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical education or certifications in quality control or metal fabrication preferred.
4 years of experience in quality within a metal manufacturing environment.
Proficiency within quality management systems (ISO, Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, etc.).
Strong analytical skills and experience with root cause analysis and problem-solving methodologies.
Strong knowledge of metal manufacturing processes and associated quality requirements.
Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
Attention to detail and a commitment to upholding high-quality standards.
Familiarity with inspection and testing equipment, including calipers, micrometers, CMM, hardness testers, etc.
WORKING CONDITONS
Working conditions for Quality Inspectors involve being in an environment with excessive noise, fumes, and different particulates in the shop area.
DUTIES AND TASKS
Ensuring proper safety clothes are always worn. i.e., safety shoes, safety glasses, ear plugs, and other clothing.
Develop and implement quality control processes and procedures to ensure all products meet required specifications and quality standards.
Monitor and analyze manufacturing processes to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions to enhance product quality and efficiency.
Conduct regular product inspections and audits to ensure compliance with industry quality standards, customer requirements, and internal quality management systems.
Lead and participate in root cause analysis and investigation of customer complaints or non-conforming products, implement correct and preventive actions to address identified issues.
Train and educate employees on quality control procedures, quality standards, and use of measurement devices, promoting a culture of quality consciousness across the organization.
Collaborate with cross functional teams, including production, engineering, and procurement, to resolve quality-related issues and improve manufacturing processes.
Evaluate supplier performance, conduct audits, and collaborate to improve incoming materials’ quality standards.
Maintain accurate records of quality issues, corrective actions, and performance metrics. Generate reports to communicate findings and recommendations.
