HOURS: (40 hours/week); Overnight Shift 9:30pm-9:30am, overnight/weekend hours

SALARY: Dependent on experience and qualifications

Typical Day

  • Conduct individual counseling sessions on an as-needed basis.
  • Follow developed treatment plans.
  • May participate in court and counseling sessions as requested and directed by the Clinical Therapist.
  • Complete all necessary documentation.
  • Document and report activities and results.
  • Maintain structured living environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain structured residential environment.
  • Know and apply therapeutic principles.
  • Know and apply the policies and procedures for identification and reporting of child abuse and neglect.
  • Protect residents and staff by physical intervention if necessary.
  • Know client history and treatment plans of residents in placement.
  • Transport residents as needed.
  • Maintain health regulations and safety standards.

Education and/or Experience

  • High School diploma or GED preferred. Experience working with youth preferred.
  • Must be at least 21 years old.
  • Requires a valid driver’s license, and the ability to meet agency auto insurance requirements.
  • Complete required orientation training according to agency program standards.
  • Willingness to submit to record checks to detect criminal convictions of behavior harmful towards children, spousal abuse, distributing drugs or sex crimes.

Working Conditions

  • Must possess the strength and ability for physical intervention in specific programs.
  • Requires night and weekend work.
  • Majority of work is directly in contact with residents.
  • Must be able to handle potentially violent residents in accordance with policies and procedures of assigned program.
  • Transportation of residents may be required. Some travel may be required.
