SBI MANUFACTURING - Robotic Welder

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Robotic Weld Operator to join our manufacturing team here at SBI Manufacturing. As a Robotic Welder, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining robotic welding systems to ensure the accurate and efficient welding of metal components. Your expertise in programming, setup, and troubleshooting of robotic welding equipment will play a critical role in achieving high-quality welds and meeting production targets.

1. REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS
   • The Robotic Weld Operator will report and collaborate with the welding lead in his/her designated area.
2. REQUIREMENTS
   • High school diploma or equivalent. Technical certifications or vocational training in welding is desirable.
   • Proven experience 4 years as a Robotic Welder, preferably in manufacturing or metal fabrication.
   • Proficiency in operating and programming robotic welding systems.
   • Strong knowledge of welding processes, techniques, and metallurgy.
   • Familiarity with welding standards and Codes.
   • Experience in interpreting engineering drawings, blueprints, and welding symbols.
   • Ability to perform visual inspections and use measuring tools for quality control.
   • Knowledge of robotic system maintenance and troubleshooting.
   • Good understanding of safety protocols and practices in welding operations.
   • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
   • Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
3. WORKING CONDITIONS
   • Robotic Welders will be working on the shop floor and could be exposed to loud noises, Dirty environment, and varying temperatures.
4. DUTIES AND TASKS
   • Robotic Welding Operations:
     1. Set up and program robotic welding systems based on work orders, engineering drawings, and specifications.
     2. Load and unload workpieces onto the welding fixtures, ensuring proper alignment and positioning.
     3. Monitor the robotic welding process to ensure accurate and consistent welding.
   • Weld Quality Assurance:
     1. Inspect and assess weld quality, using visual inspection, measuring tools, and non-destructive testing methods.
     2. Identify any defects or deviations in welds and take corrective actions as needed.
     3. Perform periodic quality checks to ensure compliance with welding standards and specifications.
   • Robotic System Maintenance:
     1. Perform routine maintenance tasks on robotic welding equipment, including cleaning, lubrication, and component replacement.
     2. Troubleshoot and resolve equipment malfunctions, robotic arm errors, or programming issues.
     3. Collaborating with leads to addressing complex or major repairs, ensuring minimal downtime.
   • Process Improvement and Optimization
     1. Identify opportunities to improve welding processes, cycle times, and efficiency using robotic systems.
     2. Propose and implement process modifications or automation enhancements to increase productivity and reduce waste.
     3. Collaborate with engineering and manufacturing teams to optimize weld joint designs and recommend suitable welding methods.
   • Safety and Compliance:
     1. Adhere to safety protocols, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE), to maintain a safe working environment.
     2. Ensure compliance with welding standards, industry regulations, and company policies.
     3. Report any safety hazards, incidents, or near misses to the lead.
   • Documentation and Reporting:
     1. Maintain accurate records of robotic welding operations, including production data, quality inspections, and equipment maintenance.
     2. Provide input on process improvements, equipment upgrades, and training needs.
