Job Overview

The Sales Manager is responsible for managing inbound inquiries and converting prospects into customers. This position involves setting and tracking sales goals, developing audience segments, refining contact strategies, providing coaching and guidance to Sales Specialists, and ensuring a high level of client satisfaction throughout the account opening process. The Sales Manager will work closely with the Chief Marketing Officer to optimize lead generation and new client acquisition strategies.

Responsibilities & Duties

  • Oversee a team of in-house sales representatives, guiding them through daily operations and ensuring they meet or exceed performance expectations.

  • When needed, handle and convert inbound inquiries into customers by assessing their needs, providing product information, and addressing any concerns.

  • Establish clear and achievable sales targets for the team. Monitor and evaluate individual and team performance, adjusting strategies as needed to ensure goals are met.

  • Provide ongoing coaching, training, and mentorship to the sales team, helping them refine their sales skills, product knowledge, and customer service techniques.

  • Ensure a seamless and positive experience for potential clients from initial inquiry through to onboarding, enhancing customer satisfaction and retention.

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of sales activities, provide regular performance reports to leadership, and contribute to sales forecasting.

  • Work closely with other departments, including marketing and customer support, to ensure alignment on sales strategies and goals.

  • Identify areas for process optimization, provide feedback for sales-related technology tools, and suggest improvements to the sales pipeline.

  • Other tasks as assigned by management.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a sales management role, preferably in financial services or similar industries.

  • Familiarity with self-directed IRAs, retirement planning, or financial services is a plus but not required.

  • Experience with CRM software (Salesforce preferred), sales tracking tools, and Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Proven success in both sales and in managing sales teams, with an emphasis on inbound lead conversion.

  • Strong leadership qualities with a focus on mentoring, motivating, and coaching sales teams.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage with prospective clients and team members at all levels.

  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to set and track sales goals, measure performance, and adjust strategies for optimal results.
