Children’s Home Society is currently seeking a Full Time School-Residential Nurse to assess and manage health needs of children in accordance with the organization's mission statement and core values.

 

 What You'll Do: 

Your responsibilities would include:

  • Responsible for utilizing the nursing process (assessment, diagnosis, outcomes/planning, implementation, and evaluation) to provide professional nursing services to the children on campus.  
  • Collaborates with the interdisciplinary team to plan, implement and evaluate care of the children. 
  • Administer medications and treatments as ordered.
  • Responsible for maintaining thorough clinical documentation. 
  • Demonstrates competency and practices within the full scope of nursing expertise.  
  • Provides education to the children on varies health related topics.  
  • Follows infection control policies to provide a health environment for colleagues and children on the Children’s Home Society campus.  
  • Maintains confidentiality.

Schedule: 

  • Tuesdays-Fridays 6:30am-4:30pm
  • Year-round

 

Compensation:  Competitive wages based on experience and education, with a benefits package equaling up to 30% of your wages, as well as yearly merit based raises  

  • $28.00/hour-$32.00/hour (Depending on Experience/Education)

Job Requirements
Qualifications:

Education: Graduate from an accredited nursing/licensed practical nursing program is required. Registered Nurse (RN) - bachelor’s degree in nursing preferred.
Experience: A minimum of one year of professional nursing experience is required.
Licensure: Licensed as a Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse in the State of South Dakota and/or meeting the requirements of multi-state licensure required. Basic Life Support (BLS) required. May obtain within six months of hire date. Valid driver’s license required.
Physical Demands and Work Environment:

Residential environment focused on care of children with behavioral issues. While performing the duties of this job, the employee must be able to physically restrain a child in ways taught by the Agency while being able to verbally communicate to the child and other staff. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
