Join Our Team as a Summer Highway Maintenance Worker!

We’re on the hunt for a summer Highway Maintenance Worker to join our team and help maintain our county’s highways, roads, and rights-of-way. This job does not require a CDL, so is perfect if you are seeking seasonal employment. The work will vary from running a roller, operating a broom, helping patch, cutting trees, mowing and chip sealing.
Hours are 7 a.m.-4:30 p.m., M-F, with some flexibility if you have previously scheduled activities.
What You'll Do:
- Diverse Tasks: From patching pavement, cutting trees, mowing, operating the broom or roller and chip sealing your day will be full of varied and meaningful work.
- Community Engagement: Maintain positive public relations and uphold a professional appearance, as you’re a key part of our county’s image.
A Typical Day Includes:
- Receiving and executing daily assignments
- Working on various highway related tasks
Qualifications We’re Looking For:
- License Requirements: Valid driver’s license
- Minimum Age: Must be at least 18 years old
- Skills: Ability to following directions, operate non CDL highway equipment, ability to work independently and as part of a team.
What We Offer:
- Competitive Wages: $18-$19 per hour Depending on experience
- A set daytime schedule of 7 a.m.-4:30 p.m. with NO weekends!
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to work in varying weather conditions and handle physical tasks like lifting up to 100 pounds.
- Must be able to traverse uneven terrain, climb ladders, and operate all necessary tools and vehicles.
