Job Description

Summary/Objective: The Senior Accountant is responsible for assisting with the company's accounting operations, including analyzing complex financial records, performing account reconciliations, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards, all while maintaining accurate and timely financial reporting to management.

Duties and Responsibilities.

  • Assist the Controller in preparing and analyzing comprehensive financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
  • Perform complex account reconciliations across various accounts to ensure accuracy and identify discrepancies.
  • Develop and implement internal controls to enhance financial accuracy and efficiency.
  • Prepare and post accurate journal entries for transactions throughout the accounting cycle.
  • Assisting with the month-end closing process, including preparing, adjusting entries and reconciling accounts.
  • Oversee accounting tasks, including accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions.
  • Prepare fixed asset reconciliation and associated depreciation entries.
  • Review and approve intercompany transactions.
  • Create, monitor, and maintain internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure compliance with accounting standards.
  • Reconcile accounts monthly to ensure accurate reporting and ledger maintenance.
  • Collaborate with external auditors to provide necessary documentation and explanations during audits.
  • Assist in developing and monitoring budgets and quarterly forecasts.
  • Monitor budget performance, analyzing variances and providing recommendations for cost control.
  • Ensure adherence to all relevant accounting regulations and tax laws.
  • Analyze financial data to identify trends, potential risks, and opportunities for improvement.

Qualifications

  • Four year accounting or a business related degree is required.
  • A minimum of five years of progressive accounting experience
  • Experience with SOX is preferred.
  • Team player, while also showing a high degree of initiative and self-motivation. Must consistently demonstrate a good example of informal leadership and excellent work ethic.
  • Must possess excellent organizational and analytical skills
