G&H Distributing is a South Dakota based agricultural and industrial supply distributor that has been the regional source for Maintenance, Repair, and Operations equipment and supplies for more than 50 years. Specializing in Ag and Industrial Hose Products, Material Handling Equipment, and Replacement Auger Flighting, G&H represents hundreds of product brands across the U.S. making it the one-stop source for regional manufacturers and the farming community. G&H is an area industry leader in supplying warehouse storage and operations equipment,a distributor for top hose product brands, and a local supplier of PPE and packaging & shipping supplies.

Compensation:
$20.00+/hr Starting DOE
Annual sales bonus eligible (based on total company annual performance)

Hours:

Scheduled/expected 40hrs per week
Monday - Friday, 7:30 am - 4:30 pm

Job Summary: Provide superior customer service to incoming customers by processing orders, assembling/repairing customer hose assemblies, assisting in general warehouse operations, processing customer counter sales tickets, exhibiting extensive product knowledge, and supporting ongoing sales objectives.

Job Requirements and Qualifications:

To be eligible for the position, candidate must:

  • Be a minimum of 18 years of age
  • Be conscientious and ethical
  • Work well with others
  • Be self-motivated and goal driven
  • Be able to accurately read print writing
  • Be able to apply math principles and concepts including: measurements, percentages, fractions, etc.
  • Have the ability to use common hand tools, handle small parts, and operate assembly machines
  • Be able to navigate and troubleshoot the Internet skillfully
  • Be able to operate Windows based computer programs successfully
  • Have a minimum of an Associate degree in a related field; or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; or 2 years or more experience and/or training in a relevant field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Providing customer support by answering incoming sales and customer service phone calls, assisting walk-in customers with counter and will-call orders, and answering general product questions.
  • Assisting in the production and processing of products by knowing the raw materials, general production processes, and quality controls to maximize the quality and distribution of the company’s products.
  • Quoting prices, credit terms, and other product bid information to prospective and existing customers.
  • Assembling products for orders including hydraulic & industrial hose, carts, casters, shelving, and other items.
  • Operating and adjusting hose cutting, pushing, & crimping machines.
  • Identifying, picking, and preparing raw materials and products from warehouse used to fulfill orders
  • Exhibiting extensive product knowledge and expertise by emphasizing product features based on the analyses of customers’ needs and on technical knowledge of product capabilities, functionalities and limitations.
  • Contacting product vendors for pricing and availability, freight quotes, shipping dates, and lead times upon customer inquiry.
  • Entering data for vendor purchase orders, customer orders and quotes into the computer system for processing.
  • Establishing and maintaining interpersonal working relationships with customers, vendors, and co-workers.
  • Helping keep an accurate product inventory by maintaining showroom displays, putting away warehouse inventory, and periodically taking a physical inventory.
  • Using computer programs such as Microsoft Office’s Excel, Word, and Outlook, company’s inventory tracking software, and the Internet.
