Custom Truck Leasing is looking to hire a Service Shop Assistant.

Key Responsibilities:

Tool and Equipment Management:
- Assist in organizing and maintaining tools, equipment, and machinery.
- Keep an inventory of tools and report any missing or damaged items.
- Prepare and clean tools and equipment for use by technicians.

Workspace Organization:
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Sweep, mop, and clean work areas regularly.
- Dispose of waste materials and hazardous substances following proper disposal guidelines.

Material Handling:
- Assist in moving and organizing materials, parts, and components within the shop.
- Retrieve and deliver items as requested by technicians.
- Ensure that materials are stored in designated areas.

Shop Support:
- Assist technicians with tasks such as lifting, carrying, or positioning heavy equipment.
- Help set up workstations, machinery, and equipment.
- Assist with basic tasks related to repairs, assembly, or disassembly as needed.

Safety Compliance:
- Follow safety protocols and guidelines to prevent accidents and injuries.
- Report any safety hazards or incidents to supervisors immediately.
- Assist with safety inspections and compliance checks.

Documentation:
- Maintain records of equipment maintenance and repairs.
- Record inventory levels and assist with stock replenishment.
- Complete checklists and documentation related to shop operations.

Customer Service:
- Greet customers or clients when they visit the shop.
- Assist with customer inquiries or requests, directing them to the appropriate personnel.
- Maintain a professional and helpful demeanor when interacting with customers.

Shop Cleanliness and Maintenance:
- Assist in maintaining and repairing shop facilities and equipment.
- Monitor and report any maintenance or repair needs to supervisors.
- Assist in minor facility repairs and maintenance tasks.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a service shop, workshop, or similar setting is beneficial.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Basic knowledge of tools, equipment, and machinery used in the shop.
- Physical stamina and the ability to lift, carry, and move heavy objects.
- Understanding of safety protocols and a commitment to following them.
- Ability to work effectively in a team and collaborate with colleagues.
- Basic computer skills for inventory management and record-keeping (if required).
Service Shop Assistants play an essential role in ensuring that service and repair shops operate smoothly and efficiently. Their support in tool management, workspace organization, and material handling contributes to the safety and productivity of the shop, ultimately helping technicians and customers have a positive experience.
