Job Description
PURPOSE:
The Shop Utility Person in the Truck & Equipment Shop plays a vital support role in maintaining a clean, organized, and efficient work environment. This position is responsible for assisting mechanics, performing basic maintenance tasks, cleaning and organizing tools, and ensuring the shop operates smoothly.
DUTIES/RESPONSIBLITIES:
- Performs routine building maintenance in such a manner as to minimize interruption of customers or employees.
- Keep exterior/interior of the service department clean and orderly
- Ensure spaces are prepared for the next day by taking out trash and recycling along with other garbage.
- Maintain and store all company supplied tools, equipment, and supplies
- Inspects, Maintains and Cleans shop equipment based on monthly schedules,
- Maintain a safe and organized work environment by following all safety procedures and protocols.
- Will keep our shop bay areas tidy by sweeping, crushing filters, etc.
- Cleans oil storage tanks according to procedures.
- Maintain wash bay and cleaning equipment to ensure proper operation
- Shuttle completed units to the front for customer pickup, ensuring that inside and outside of unit is clean and presentable
- Runs errands as directed by service manager.
- Transport tools, parts, and equipment within the shop as needed.
- Removes any old scrap parts from shop after checking with parts manager.
- Assists technicians with oil and water spills and with emptying drain tubs
- Follow all company policies or procedures.
- Uses proper eye, hand, and body protection when using products that require protection.
- Perform yard work and snow removal and operate and maintain the equipment.
- Run errands for service and other departments as directed.
- Wash and clean service truck fleet.
- Clean and detail trucks/equipment for the sales department
- Load and Unload equipment for sales department

- Must be able to lift up to 75+ pounds
- This position will include long periods of standing up to 4 hours at a time.
- This position may include bending, stooping, lifting, etc.
