SOUTH DAKOTA GOLF ASSOCIATION SUMMER INTERNSHIP

Job Description

Interns will travel the state assisting with SDGA Championships and Junior Tour operations. You will experience a fun and fast paced environment, working alongside a quality staff and competitors who love the game of golf! 

DATES OF EMPLOYMENT: May - August (start/end dates are flexible)

ABOUT THE SOUTH DAKOTA GOLF ASSOCIATION: The SDGA offers 28 championships during the summer months and hosts multiple USGA championship qualifying events. The association comprises 95 member clubs, over 15,000 individual members, and a Junior Tour boasting 600 members and 34 events.

SDGA INTERNSHIP RESPONSIBILITIES: 

Junior Tour Administration:
-Administering Junior Tour events
-Pre-event administration, course set-up, starting, and scoring
-On-site tournament operation duties and post-event follow-up

Championship Support:
-Assist in tournament administration for SDGA Championships

Additional Responsibilities:
-Registrations
-Communications
-Social Media Posts

Job Requirements

Must live near Sioux Falls, SD during internship (although other living arrangements are possible).

Amateur golf background preferred. PGM students are welcome.

Strong work ethic and ability to work weekends, and outdoors.

Good communication skills, willingness to travel, and be a team player.

Valid driver’s license and ability to get to and from Sioux Falls SDGA office.
