Position SummaryThis position coordinates the student experience of Southeast Technical College’s (STC) Student Housing complex for 200+ residents. The position supports all aspects of STC housing, including recruiting and admitting students, student safety and security, student discipline, student satisfaction with housing and housing services. Additionally, this position will coordinate and assist with student hiring and supervision. Along with an annual salary, compensation includes a 2-bedroom apartment including all utilities, internet, cable television, and reserved parking.
Essential Functions- Acts as a liaison to housing residents by holding resident meetings periodically to communicate STC policies and other information.
- Addresses emergency situations promptly and appropriately.
- Assists in the adjudication of all student violations of policies, rules, and regulations as they relate to on-campus housing and in accordance with the policies, rules and regulations outlined in the STC Housing Handbook and STC Catalog/Handbook.
- Assists in the administration of and coordinates student disciplinary and corrective actions.
- Assists in ensuring Housing facilities are well-maintained.
- Assists in the coordination of facility maintenance and repair with STC Custodial/Maintenance staff and third-party contractors. Support the efforts of the Facilities Manager - Housing.
- Assists in the hiring, training, and supervision of part time STC Housing staff. Trains Admission/Student Success staff on relevant Housing policies and procedures.
- Capable of working both independently and as a team member who is results oriented and a self-starter.
- Completes all required reports in a timely and accurate manner.
- Coordinates and communicates with STC staff (i.e., Admissions, Student Success, Security, Student Accounts) to assist in problem resolution with individual students.
- Coordinates and oversees the student experience for on-campus housing.
- Coordinates in conjunction and/or independently responses to all crisis situations involving and/or impacting housing students.
- Determines student responsibility for damages to facilities and assesses charges to students, when appropriate.
- Develops, organizes, and participates in housing social activities and the establishment of a Housing community.
- Establishes office hours in conjunction with the Facilities Manager for informal contact and maximum accessibility with residents.
- Maintains a respectful and safe living environment for students. Conducts regular rounds and interacts with students to ensure that residents and areas are safe, secure, and maintained.
- Maintains accurate, up-to-date records related to occupancy (including mid-semester room changes) in STC’s ERP Student Life System.
- Maintains STC Housing website.
- Manages STC Housing contract and damage deposit processes.
- Mediates and assists in resolving interpersonal problems between roommates and residents.
- Observes/reports unusual behavior to the appropriate campus resources.
- Oversees and coordinates resident move-in/move-out processes.
- Oversees recruitment of students for housing and participates in campus Admissions and Recruitment Events.
- Processes contract cancellations for students who are unable to follow residence hall policies and procedures.
- Provides evening, weekend, and on-call housing assistance as needed.
- Provides input on annual budget including rental rates, and ensures expenditures are in line with the adopted budget.
- Provides input on facility maintenance, renovation, and property needs.
- Recommends initiatives and implements changes to improve quality and services.
- Responsible for housing enrollments, acceptance into housing, roommate assignments as well as maintains effective and timely communications to students about student housing application and acceptance.
- Reviews, develops, and implements STC Housing rules, regulations, policies, and procedures. Updates on an annual basis, the STC Housing Handbook.
- Visible and active participant in campus-wide sponsored activities for both on/off campus events that support the Housing community.
- Works in conjunction of the Facilities Managers - Housing and serves as the secondary contact for all facility related matters.
- Performs other duties as assigned and/or reasonably necessary.
Position Qualifications- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Student Affairs, Counseling, or similar area required; Master’s degree preferred
- Experience: Prior experience with on-campus and/or apartment management preferred.

Physical Demands and Work EnvironmentIndoor and outdoor work environments. Indoor environment is climate controlled with possible drafts from doors opening. Moderate levels of noise from students and student activities taking place. Outdoor environment varies between temperatures of extreme heat and extreme cold.
