REQUIREMENTSEDUCATION LEVEL:Experience working with elementary-aged students preferred
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:Hand-eye/mind-eye coordination, hearing; intermittent filing, grasping, holding, indexing, inserting, keyboarding, repetitive use of wrists, hands and fingers, opening, reaching, removing, scheduling, sitting, sorting, speaking, stamping, standing, stapling, stooping, typing, walking, and writing.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:Ability to relate in a positive manner with employees and the public. Basic knowledge of computers, organization skills.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & DUTIESCommunity Learning Center Summer Tutors will engage in small group academic enrichment activities with select students targeting reading and math skills. Tutors will be responsible for preparing activities, tracking attendance, and monitoring progress.
Summer Locations: Robert Frost, Eugene Field, and Rosa Parks
- Contribute to student learning, growth, and advancement.
- Demonstrate academic competence in the subject area(s).
- Develop learning activities, strategies, and curriculum for tutoring sessions.
- Track student attendance and activities for tutoring sessions.
- Maintain a growth mindset toward student learning and teaching practice.
- Facilitate problem-solving with a curious mind and critical thinking skills.
- Collaborate effectively with parents, school site personnel, and after-school and summer personnel to increase student performance.
- Complete training requirements for Direct Care as determined by the State of South Dakota; assists in covering at sites in emergency situations.
- Maintains positive community image of the Sioux Falls School District.
- Performs other duties as assigned by direct or indirect supervisors.
PAY INFORMATIONRate of Pay through June 30th, 2025 is $20.90 per hour.
Rate of Pay starting July 1st, 2025 is $21.22 per hour
Pay Day: Last working day of each month.
HOURS & FTEHours variable up to 20 hours per week throughout the summer.
