Avera is hiring a Facility Services Supervisor. Knowledge of housekeeping in a surgical hospital is a plus!

Job Summary
This Facility Services Supervisor is responsible for providing efficient and effective guidance and broad supervision of all staff in the Facility Services Department in the Housekeeping and Maintenance area primarily and the Security area secondarily. Will coordinate functions, activities, and schedules, solve procedural problems and be required to make independent decisions concerning emergency situations.
Supervisory Responsibilities
Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, developing, training, and retaining employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Education and/or Experience
- High School Diploma or equivalent education required.
- College degree preferred but not required.
- At least 2 years of general housekeeping experience, 2 years of general maintenance experience, 2 years of supervision and / or an acceptable equivalent combination of experiences required.
Certification/Licensure/Registrations
- This position requires a valid driver’s license, and that the employee is insurable by the Avera Health Automobile Liability Insurance carrier.
Work Schedule
- Monday – Friday, 7:00am-3:30pm; 80 hours every 2 weeks
- On-call for emergencies
- Flexible hours for night staff training 9:00am-6:00pm and 3:30pm-10:00pm
