REQUIREMENTSEDUCATION LEVEL & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:Associate's degree in systems administration, computer science, or a related field plus three years of experience in IT support or system administration. Industry certifications (preferred): Teams Administrator Association, CompTIA Network+, CompTIA Security+, or other relevant certifications.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:Ability to lift and move equipment up to 40 pounds. Repetitive motions with wrists, hands, and fingers frequently required, as well as keyboarding, lifting, standing, and grasping. Requires hand-eye and mind-eye coordination, hearing, walking, and driving.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:Valid South Dakota Driver's License.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & DUTIES- Administers and maintains the district's VoIP system, including account provisioning, troubleshooting, and coordinating with vendors as needed.
- Provides Tier II technical support for escalated IT issues, working closely with the Systems Engineer, Data Center Engineer, and Network Engineers for advanced troubleshooting.
- Manages user accounts, access controls, and group policies within Active Directory and Microsoft 365.
- Assists in the deployment and maintenance of software applications across district devices.
- Supports mobile device management (MDM) for iPads and Chromebooks, including enrollment, application distribution, and policy enforcement.
- Assists the Systems Engineer with endpoint security by applying patches, monitoring antivirus systems, and managing security policies.
- Assists in maintaining accurate documentation of systems, processes, and troubleshooting procedures.
- Supports district-wide technology initiatives, including deployments, migrations, and IT-related projects as assigned.
- Ensures readiness for online assessments by verifying device functionality and resolving technical issues.
- Performs other duties as assigned by the Network Infrastructure Manager.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES- Familiarity with VoIP administration and troubleshooting.
- Experience with Windows, macOS, ChromeOS, and iOS device management.
- Knowledge of software deployment methods, imaging tools, and mobile device management (MDM) solutions.
- Understanding of Active Directory, Microsoft 365 administration, and group policy management.
- Basic networking knowledge and wireless connectivity troubleshooting.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve system and application issues efficiently.
- Excellent communication skills to provide support and training to end-users.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with IT staff and stakeholders.
PAY INFORMATIONStarting at , $69,215.20 to $80,552.65 based on experience.
