Job Description
MedStar Ambulance is hiring fulltime and parttime drivers to be transport specialists for our Ambulance service based in Brandon, SD. We are hiring drivers to be paired with a Paramedic or EMT for our interfacility transports. Applicant will be driving our ambulances and will assist the Paramedic or EMT in moving, lifting, loading and unloading the patient from the ambulance. Our vehicles are equipped with GPS tablets and tracking devices. Applicant must have a clean driving record and be insurable. Must be comfortable driving larger vehicles, driving in traffic, and long distances. Attractive call pay and top hourly pay. Previous fleet driving or any healthcare employment is a plus. Hours will vary and some day time,night time, some weekend driving will be involved.
Job Requirements
Applicant must have a valid driver license with a clean driving record to be insurable,CDL not required. Must be able to lift and move up to 100 pounds assisting partners. CPR certification is a plus, but we can provide the training to the right person. Applicant will need to go through a driving class, HIPAA training, and general first aid to be licensed by the South Dakota Board of Medical and Osteopathic Examiners. Must be able to pass a background check and TSA federal background check. While on call must be within 20 minutes of our Brandon, SD station. Applicant must be a caring, compassionate person.
