Job Description

The Warehouse Receiving Lead is responsible for the receiving team's collective performance and productivity. This role will provide directions to receiving employees but will not have direct reports. The Warehouse Receiving Lead is responsible for overseeing and managing the receipt, inspection, proper handling of goods, materials, and products in compliance with strict regulatory requirements. In addition, this role ensures all incoming shipments are inspected, documented, and processed accurately while maintaining compliance with industry standards, including [FDA, ISO, DEA, OSHA, or other regulatory bodies]. The Warehouse Receiving Lead will ensure that Receiving Specialists' performance exceeds customer expectations by ensuring that receiving functions are executed in an accurate and timely manner. This includes a high level of knowledge in receiving, issuing, and organizing materials for maximum efficiency. The Warehouse Receiving Lead will assist the Supervisor in maintaining the operations of the warehouse facility by acting as lead liaison/point of contact between Warehouse Supervisor and assigned areas of the warehouse as well as interacting with other department leads.
Job Responsibilities & Essential Functions:
- Ensures all receiving SLAs are met by delegating work appropriately among Receiving Specialists
- Oversee the receipt of all goods and materials, ensuring they meet company standards and regulatory requirements (e.g., ATF)
- Conduct thorough inspections of incoming shipments, including verifying documentation, handling procedures, and ensuring all items are in compliance with regulatory guidelines
- Leads and/or contributes to inventory control functions: cycle counting, annual physical inventory, item maintenance and adjustments
- Maintain detailed records of received goods and materials, ensuring proper documentation for traceability and auditing purposes
- Prepare and review reports related to receiving activities, inventory discrepancies, and compliance audits
- Oversee, mentor, and train receiving staff on best practices, regulatory compliance, safety protocols, and standard operating procedures (SOPs)
- Operates Material Handling Equipment (MHE). Candidate is certified on all MHE
- Continuously evaluate, suggest improvements, and implement solutions to streamline workflows, reduce errors, and ensure that regulatory standards are consistently met
- Lead individual and collective warehouse receiving team projects appointed by leadership
- Responds to internal and external customer tasks in a timely manner
- Input information quickly and accurately from a variety of sources into several software systems
- Verifies data by comparing it to source documents
- Troubleshoot and provide solutions to receiving discrepancies
- Work closely with procurement, warehouse, quality control, and other departments to ensure smooth operations and effective communication regarding the receipt and handling of goods
- Provide direction to the team on process / job responsibility changes, as well as daily task updates
- Provide honest and candid feedback to the manager to maintain the team's operational performance and effectiveness
Job Requirements & Qualifications:
- High school degree or equivalent required

Compensation and Benefits:
