Job Summary: The Division of Family and Community Health, Office of Lifespan Health is seeking a visionary public health leader to join its team as the Women's Health Director. This position works closely with the Title V Director and works collaboratively with the Office of Lifespan Health (OLH) team and external partners to research and promote evidence-informed strategies to develop and implement programs focused on women's health and wellbeing. This position will work to facilitate workgroups, develop partnerships, serve on advisory councils and special interest groups, and create and disseminate educational materials.
This position will be responsible for the oversight and grant management of Maternal Mortality prevention efforts. The director would provide program and financial direction to advance to the goals and objectives of Women's Health in South Dakota. This position reports to the Office of Lifespan Health Administrator, Division of Family and Community Health.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:- minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Public Health, Biological Sciences, or a health-related field;
- equivalent combination of education, experience, and training will be considered;
- experience in grants and/or program management;
- ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team;
- strong organizational skills, with the ability to plan, set goals, and prioritize tasks;
- proven ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with:
- healthcare partners;
- researchers;
- community organizations;
- commitment to supporting the Department of Health's public health strategic goals;
- alignment with and representation of the Department of Health's mission, vision, and values.
Knowledge of:
