Job Description: The Woodworking Shop technician is a key role in our construction company, blending hands-on craftsmanship with versatile shop skills. This role requires a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and the ability to work well within a team. The ideal candidate will have previous experience in woodworking, cabinet assembly, or a related field, and be proficient in using woodworking tools and equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Woodworking and Project Execution: Plan and execute diverse woodworking projects, ensuring quality and specification compliance.
• CNC Router Operation and Maintenance: Assist in operating and maintaining a CNC router, including programming for project requirements. Ensure precision in wood component fabrication.
• Tool and Equipment: Work with a wide variety of tools and equipment.
• Shop Operations and Safety: Assist with shop operations, maintaining cleanliness, organization, and safety. Abide by safety protocols equipment operation and woodworking safety.
• Teamwork and Collaboration: Works closely with shop staff, contributing to skill development and fostering a collaborative team environment. Coordinate with other departments to ensure project alignment and effective resource management.
• Onsite Labor as Needed: Assisting/Instructing field employees on how items fabricated in shops need to be installed in the field. Assisting with deliveries of materials, products, or other items to and from job sites or suppliers.
• Cabinet Assembly: Build and assemble cabinets according to specifications and project requirements.
• Cleaning: Clean up after each shift. Cleaning may involve cleaning floors, equipment, project areas, tool areas.
• Deliveries: Assist with loading and unloading materials and products for delivery to job sites.
• Other Duties: Perform other related tasks assigned by the supervisor.

Ideal Candidate Requirements:

Qualifications

• Experience in woodworking with strong project portfolio.
• Skill in operating and maintaining woodworking tools.
• Familiarity with woodworking techniques, materials, and safety standards.
• Strong organizational skills for tracking multiple projects and inventory.
• Strong communication skills.
• Blueprint and design plan interpretation ability.

• Acts with integrity and professionalism.

• 1 year of experience in a woodworking environment preferred, but willing to train the right person.

• Ability to lift heavy materials and stand for extended periods.

Training:

• All Cosand employees will be trained in their level of employment and safety requirements, this will include on-the-job training as well as classroom training when it applies. Cosand Construction will provide all the safety equipment and PPE that is needed for the task at hand.
